Getting your site ready
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is the term for preparing your web site for the search engines (Google, Alta Vista, Yahoo, MSN, Live, Dogpile etc) with the most relevant search terms and phrases to attract visitors to your site and improve your ranking.
Many businesses new to the use of the internet believe that once a site is submitted it will go straight to page one on all the search engines. This is far from the truth in all but the most exceptional of cases. Most businesses have competition, whether at home or abroad and most competitors already have a web presence and are established on the search engines, in some cases, for many years.
Just30 builds sites which are search engine friendly from the ground up, ensuring that page titles are present, appropriate meta tags, keywords (often these are based on recommendations to the client), images using alt tags (words used to describe an image which appear when you move your mouse over an image) and wherever possible keyword-rich content.
We always recommend that clients do their homework, find out what keywords are relevant to their business and their competitors.
There are of course, paid options which will increase the page ranking and visibility on search engines. Campaigns such as Google AdWords can be very effective but costly in the long term. Wherever possible, having links both to and from the site is essential as more and more search engines are placing emphasis on reciprocal links rather than keywords alone.
There are also SEO companies who specialise in this kind of work and have the facilities to add large numbers of links to your site (but not by using link farms) as well as giving professional advice on keyword use and working with us to ensure that your site has an excellent return on investment. We would always recommend to larger organisations that they consider including an SEO company in their budget for a particular project.
Just30 are happy to recommend Total SEO to anyone looking for reliable, professional SEO services.
